A political crisis is viewed as disastrous in terms of development of the state. Investors are scared to invest, projects hang in balance thus giving the people an additional headache. However if there is someone who is happy is the old car dealer.
Thanks to unstable governments and new netas occupying the chair every now and then due to political instability, 125 official cars have been auctioned off.
The reason — new ministers refuse to use the used cars by their predecessors for superstitious reasons.
However, it is not as though their new car is the same variant used by the predecessor.
Life nalli change beku guru (We need change in life boss) is what some of the netas have to say. Thanks to this the people of Karnataka has seen its ministers right from the days of the Ambassador to the Toyota Corrola today.
After the Janata Dal-Secular government headed by H D Kumaraswamy fell, the new team of ministers who would have taken over had B S Yeddyurappa not stepped down felt the need to have new cars. Barely three days after the Bharatiya Janata Party chief minister took oath, at least 45 cars were auctioned off.
This is where the old car dealer steps in and makes a killing. Ford Ikon, model 2001 auctioned at Rs 1.25 lakh and later sold to the common man at Rs 2.25 lakh. Contessa picked up at Rs 20,000 and sold at Rs 50,000. Ambassadors at Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 and sold off at Rs 40,000.
The Department of Administrative Reforms and Personnel, which is in charge of this, says that with every new government the cars need to be changed. There is no way in which the ministers will use old cars. Moreover they insist on better variants rather than the one used by their predecessor.
Each time the government changes, the state coughs up at least Rs 10 crore on new cars, sources said.
Apart from this, these cars are sold at a loss after the government falls, sources in DPAR also said.
The government rules state that cars can only be sold in an auction. Worse, the cars which are used by the ministers cannot be allotted to other departments as the officials are not entitled for these higher end cars.
Sad but true, the government actually saves on Rs 3.5 crore every month when a government is not at its seat. The maintainence of the cars used by all the ministers comes up to a whooping Rs 3.5 crore a month.

Classic car is a term repeatedly used whenever one mentions about an older car, but the exact implication varies from person to person. Some tend to be very inclusive, classifying any older car in excellent condition as a classic. Others, including the “Concours d’Elegance” and the Classic Car Club of America are adamant that 1948 is the final year for genuine classics. The Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) claims that it has coined the term Classic car and as is the case it believes that the actual definition of the term is what they have given. According to the CCCA a classic car is a fine or distinctive vehicle, either American or foreign made, manufactured between 1925 and 1948.
Generally, a Classic is costly when fresh and was produced in limited numbers. Other factors which help to assess whether a vehicle is a Classic or not includes engine displacement, custom coachwork and luxury accessories, such as power brakes, power clutch, and “one-shot” or automatic lubrication systems. The Club possesses an exhaustive list of the vehicles it classifies as a Classic, and even though any member may move a petition for a vehicles to be added in the list, such petitions are scrutinized with care and rarely is a new vehicle type accommodated.
Even though this definition of a classic car is acknowledged by the CCCA, it is not universally admitted. While it still insists that the true definition of ‘classic car’ is its, it commonly utilizes terms such as CCCA Classic or the trademarked Full Classic to keep away confusion. Cessna 550 Citation is a twin-engine business class jet airplanes. It forms part of the Citation series of aircrafts brought out by Cessna which were initially characterized by twin turbo-powered engines and straight wings. The jets of Cessna Citation series have long been the mainstay of corporate air travel in the United States.
The Cessna 550 Citation was another name of the Citation II series developed by Cessna in order to improve upon its Citation I aircrafts. The latter had proved to be successful in the market of business jets with its turbo-fan engines and ability to take off from smaller airfields.
Production of Cessna 550 Citation aircrafts continued from 1978 to 1994 and during this period around 603 aircrafts were manufactured. The production of Citation II S/P aircrafts was thought to replace the Citation 550 as the former had the capability to be flown by a single pilot. However the Citation II continued to be manufactured side by side the Citation II S/P and was finally replaced by the Citation Bravo.
An upgraded version of the Cessna 550 Citation II was the Model 551 which came to be known as the Citation II S/P. the latter was developed to compete in the Turbo-prop segment as most of the aircrafts in this segment were flown by single pilots. Yet another improved variant was the Model S550 Citation S/II which employed a more powerful engine of the JT15D4B class. Other than that it also had an upgraded design which gave it superior aerodynamics.

When we hear about motorcycles, we think of big, bulky people dressed in leather and who will give you a trashing if you so much as look at them. Well I guess this is a stereotype for motorcycle riders. Other stereotypes include “gun runners, drug pushers” and you know the rest. They practically invented the definition for a “road trip” as you will the same riders when you go interstate – from motels to roadside diners, and all across America, some going as far as Mexico.
Motorcycles are two-wheeled vehicles powered by an engine. These vehicles are found in different styles depending on the purpose they were designed – long distance travel, urban travel, sport and racing and off-road conditions. Different kinds of tires are used depending on the terrain – off road tires need to be knobby because it needs the traction; road tires have treads, racing tires are smooth. Motorcycles are used for different purposes; while some use it for races in the speedway, off road or grand prix, others ride them for pure pleasure or as a means of transport.
In most parts of the world, motorcycles are the least expensive and most common motorized form of travel. The advantages of a motorcycle are: it uses less gasoline, it takes up small space and some can even travel as fast as cars. On the other hand, disadvantages include the higher risk of accidents and a motorcycle cannot carry as many passengers as a car.
The first known motorcycle was designed by Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach, you probably recognize those names already. There are, however some arguments with regards to this. In the 1920s, Harley-Davidson became the top producer with their motorcycles being sold in 67 countries. At present, Japanese names like Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha dominate the world market for motorcycles but Harley-Davidson is still popular in the US market.

Just as I mentioned, motorbikes are designed differently depending on the purpose and the terrain you wish to travel. Some people would suggest a sportbike for daily commuting on twisty roads or for short trips. You can also get full touring or sport touring bikes if you are planning to go interstate.
